The following covers blackjack and craps, and primarily live-dealt games with chips, not computer screens. And we’re talking about the cheapest games in town, not necessarily the best. The list covers Downtown, the Strip, and Off-Strip.
We don’t cover roulette because even cheap roulette’s for suckers. If you must play, either under duress, or to impress someone, avoid wheels with three zeros (mostly on the Strip). The cheapest single-zero game is at the Plaza, and the cheapest minimum bet is at Jerry’s Nugget.
Updated March 5, 2026 – We do what we can to keep this up to date, but please verify these table minimums before making a trip. Note that minimums may go up during weekends and the busiest times. And tell us what you find by calling our Stinkline ((775) 400-2941) or by emailing us.
DOWNTOWN
| Joint | Game | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown Grand | Blackjack – $1 and $5 Craps $5 | The dollar game is shoe dealt, even money on BJ – and the gambling equivalent of working in a sweatshop. $5 is shoe dealt, 3:2 on BJ. They say they have $5 craps, but all we’ve ever seen is a closed or $10 table. Maybe only at the slowest of times, like after a proctology conference at the hotel ends in tragedy? |
| Plaza | Blackjack – $5 | During slow times, the Plaza may deal a $5 game with 6:5 blackjack payouts. |
THE STRIP
| Joint | Game | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Excalibur | Blackjack – $5 | Shoe dealt and 6:5 BJ – which means you really should just walk across the Strip to Oyo and play a decent game. |
| Luxor | Blackjack – $5 | Second verse, same as the Excalibur. Oyo, Ellis and Palms are better games nearby. |
| Oyo | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | Shoe dealt, 3:2 BJ – On our most recent visit, they had two tables working at $5. For craps, The tables don’t start up until late morning, but once they do, they are 345x odds and $5. It will go up to $10 on busy nights and weekends. |
| Slots-a-Fun | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | Dealt from a shoe, BJ pays 6:5. Craps is “Roll to Win,” meaning one dealer, a plastic table top, and betting through a computer interface. No chips, no fun. |
OFF-STRIP
| Joint | Game | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Boulder Station | Craps – $5 | They say $5, but they also say $10, so proceed with caution until you can confirm. Then, go bananas because it’s 10x odds! |
| Cannery | Craps – $5 | Great news: 10x odds! Bad news, they jack up the minimum on weekends and busy times. |
| Ellis Island | Blackjack – $5 | Continuous shuffle machine and 6:5 on BJ. |
| Gold Coast | Craps – $5 | Call it the Triangle of Crappiness on Flamingo west of the freeway where the Palms, Rio, and Gold Coast all offer a $5 game. |
| Jerry’s Nugget | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | You can often find shoe and double deck games for this price, with 3:2 BJ. The 3x odds craps game is available until they close the table well after midnight. It’s one of the few constants in life, along with death, taxes, and getting lice by rubbing your head on kindergarten-room carpet. |
| Palms | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | A shoe game with 3:2 BJ. Craps is 345x odds and they swear it’s 24/7. |
| Rio | Craps – $3 | The Rio is trying, really trying. Their only active live craps table is a mere $3 with 345x odds, but only between 3 AM and 3 PM (we saw it at $5 on a slow weeknight). They don’t have rat biscuits (25¢ chips) or even half dollars, so make your odds bet to optimize payout. |
| Sam’s Town | Craps – $5 | Sam deals a $5 game with glorious 10x odds. $5 craps doesn’t get any better, baby. |
| Silverton | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | Proceed with caution for BJ. We have not seen this one on our visits, so it may only be during the slowest of times. Their cheap craps is the “Crapless” craps, a variant designed to take advantage of people who don’t understand the difference. Worse odds, worse game. |
| Southpoint | Blackjack – $5 Craps – $5 | We hear reports but never see $5 BJ dealt while we are there. If it is, it’s during slow times, and it’s 3:2. For craps, they’ve got a lot of 2x odds tables here, but we haven’t actually seen one going at $5, so verify for yourself. |
| Tuscany | Blackjack – $5 | A shoe-dealt game with 6:5 BJ in a casino that will immerse you in a fantasy world where you’ll feel like you’re in a modest hotel with a half-assed Italian theme. |
| Virgin | Blackjack – $5 | The hotel everyone forgets exists offers a $5 3:2 game, and they swear they always offer it. |
